Day 20: Lazy? Me?

We were busy-as this day.

We did the laundry. I even ironed a few shirts. Then I went to Spanish class. And we had lunch.

The pace is killing me.

At breakfast we chatted with our waiter, Tayfun, who is from Istanbul in Turkey. He told us about a friend of his, formerly with Crystal, who is now running a cafĂ© in Sydney. It turns out that the coffee shop is about 200m from where Emma once worked, 100m from our favourite coffee shop in Neutral Bay, and across the road from Mark Schrader’s offices.

Tayfun has worded us up to go in and pretend like we met him when he was working on Crystal Cruises. Should be fun.

After lunch actor and playwrite Jim Brochu gave a talk on Katherine Hepburn, a combination of personal anecdotes from his meetings with her, a biographical overview, and a few film clips. Highly entertaining.

For the life of me I can’t remember what else we did the afternoon. I’m sure it was exhausting.

Dinner was our second formal night, this time with a French menu, which gave Emma a chance to indulge her love of French onion soup, and for me to indulge my love of avoiding escargot.

Afterwards we attended another production show, “Million Dollar Musical”, a collection of routines based on various film musicals. Not bad, but my favourite show to date was the first one.

This was all much too tiring so we went back to our room for another bout of nothing.
