I popped into the casino 45 minutes before the tournament to find out how many players there were, and what the tournament structure was.
There were six players signed up, which was fine. I was less keen on the blind and payout structure: $100 buy-in, $25/$50 starting blinds with$1500 in chips, with the blinds doubling every 10 minutes, winner-takes-all.
For the non-poker players: this is pretty close to paying $110 to roll a die. On a 6 you win $600, otherwise you blow your dough.
Pass.
Instead I joined Emma in the cinema to watch “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”, with Nicholas Cage, Jay Baruchel and Alfred Molina. Enjoyable enough, in a typical Disney kind of way.
The cold was taking its toll. I managed to make it to Spanish, but skipped the lectures and gym. The only real highlight was a return visit to Prego with two of our new friends, Ken and Jim. Jim was feeling worse than I was, but the meal was superb.
Since every post needs a picture, here’s my arugula salad.

I have decided to comment!
ReplyDeleteThis meal reminds me of yesterday. I woke up and made myself a piece of toast. I set the toaster to 3, medium brown.
PS: Hi!
